The moving begins

We passed all inspections with a couple minor 'corrections'. HiLine (via Day or Night Electric) will have to move a wall heater about 4 inches to comply with the manufacturer's installation requirements. Which should be at the same time they install the correct (hopefully!) living room light and a doorbell.

The 'nick and ding' drywall guys are supposed to drop by soon. Plus, Todd needs to bring a replacement window and trim up a closet door. So, very nearly complete!

Of course, our work has just begun. We are moving slowly. The outside landscaping is next on the list, but may be minimal for this year now that football season is in full swing and elk season is right around the corner.

We have the most important item in, so now we can just take our time:

Finished! (Well, almost.)

We had our walk-through with HiLine yesterday. We made a small "punch list" to be completed by HiLine subs, including:  doorbell, some lighting, windows, and sheetrock touch ups.

The electrician came out yesterday to remedy the light situation only to find that HiLine had, again, provided the wrong light. He will have to come back.

Really love how the kitchen/great room turned out:

Inspection should be done Thursday, so if all goes well, we will be moving in this weekend!

Carpet!

All the bedrooms and the hallway have carpet now. Love it! I think it looks great with the wall color.

The electricians need to finish the lighting and the door bell issue needs to be resolved. They are supposed to be here Monday or Tuesday.

Tuesday we have our final walk through with Todd from HiLine. As soon as we sign off with HiLine, they call in final inspections and we can move in!

We still have a lot of little things to do and finish, in addition to moving, but as Tim said, we have 30yrs to get it all done! We will take it slow and easy.

Delayed

Not surprisingly, the finish date has been pushed back--again. Carpet has been our holdup. There are several things that happen after carpet is installed, so until then, we are at a standstill.

We are also waiting on the electricians to finish correcting all the lighting.

August 8th is our the date we have been given for carpet install. I am still puzzled as to how this is the item holding things up. We ordered their standard carpet and during the ascribed time. But, it is what it is!

Mike, the trim guy, is amazing! Trim, doors, etc. look beautiful. Any little concern I had (and there were very few) he fixed. He had to install all the base trim in the bedrooms BEFORE carpet because of the delay. I am worried about the carpet layers damaging the trim (stay tuned!).

All the plumbing hardware is in. Both bathrooms are complete except switching out the dome lights.

Kid's bath:
We have been busy with concrete the last few days. A couple days of prep and framing, one fast and furious day of pouring and a few more of getting our colored patio just right before sealing tonight.
Back patio...an adventure in DIY color and stamping:

So, I am really hoping this wraps up by start of school and football!

Final Stretch

Things are coming together.  Touch-ups and landscaping left to do on the outside.

Inside:  doors, fixtures (they installed all the wrong lights, so they will have to switch them all out), trim, carpet and appliances are all left to install.
We spent the week of the 4th painting the interior.
Lauren's Room is a light sea blue with accents (closet and one wall) of a dark turquoise:

The Great Room/Kitchen is Studio Taupe:

And the rest of the house is a medium gray (Anonymous):

The knotty alder cabinets are in:

Great room/kitchen floors went in last week. Acacia engineered wood-love!

Granite yesterday:

The septic installation wrapped up yesterday (finally!).  We are trying to nail down our concrete guy.  The floor company called to say that the carpet will be delayed, so that pushes back the entire project at least a week, so we are looking at a completion date the first week or so of August.

The mudders have been here all week and are doing a great job making all the walls look pretty! Texture Monday, maybe. Then we wait a day or two for texture to dry, then we PAINT! Heading into the home stretch, with just over 30days until HiLine finishes up.

We are still waiting on a concrete bid. Septic install next week, which means Tim will spend his weekend digging dirt and removing fencing.

Today, I am picking up our dishwasher and microwave for installment on July 9th.

Drywall and texture

The drywall crew was...ummmm...
interesting! They finished hanging last week and the mud and texture crew have been busy this week. They should finish up today or tomorrow. And then we paint the interior.
The exterior has one coat and 2/3 of a second coat (in large part, thanks to Tim!). As soon as Tim is healed up (PRK surgery) and the rain lets up, we will finish the second coat, trim and touch ups.

Septic installation should start next week.

Closer still!

So, we had a bit of a lull, but we are up and running now! We had to wait on a couple inspections (and some corrections), as well as, preparations to get the permanent power turned on.

The siding crew finished up last week. They left a bit to be desired when it came to the trim, but I am hoping the paint will cover the defects! The concrete crew also came back to pour the garage. It looks great!

Over the past week or so, we chose our exterior color (Behr Amazon Stone) and started painting, finished up our flooring choices (almost!), and did a little clean-up.
My very appreciated paint crew! (Thanks, mom, too!)

The insulation crew also came and went last week, finishing the entire interior (except the blow-in insulation that will go in after sheetrock)-in one day! The house is SO quiet now. Love it!

Pacific Power arrived this morning and our permanent power is on. An inspection of the insulation is supposed to happen today and then sheetrock later this week. Things are definitely happening!  Todd sent me a schedule with an estimated completion date of July 31! (I am getting excited!)
